The fire broke out in a third floor room at the Woodbridge Senior Village near 72nd and Sorenson Parkway just before 7:00 Friday morning.
Irvington Assistant Fire Chief Kyle Tonnies tells Newsradio 1110 KFAB the sprinkler system had put the fire out by the time they arrived.
They were able to get the victim out of the building. She suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation and was transported to Immanuel Hospital. The other residents made it out on their own.
Tonnies says they did a fire drill at the facility in July and taught the residents how to evacuate.
Tonnies says there was considerable smoke, water and fire damage to her room. The State Fire Marshal is investigating.
